When in Wales some time ago I saw the Barmouth Viking II that offers fishing trips around Cardigan Bay, deliberately 'parked' on the beach so that it's owner could do some maintenance on it.
Cottage Garden
12"x9"
£40
Not really a Cottage Garden. I discovered this 'display' constructed at the entrance to a local Garden Centre. It's made a delightful subject for a painting.
Welsh Barn
10"x7"
£55
Well, not fully a barn. I came across this very small building when on holiday in Wales recently. The wooden pallete leaning against the front of the structure gives some idea of scale. Was it a pig sty or some sort of animal pen?
Water Mill, Lower Slaughter
12"x9"
£55
Upper Slaughter and Lower Slaughter are two small villages in the Cotswolds. This is a painting of the Water Mill in Lower Slaughter.
Bolton Priory - Yorkshire
12"x9"
£45
I'm a little confused over the correct name of this semi-ruined priory. I'm not sure if it's "Bolton Priory" or "The Priory at Bolton Abbey". I suspect the latter may be more accurate. The priory is set in the magnificent Yorkshire Dales on the banks of the River Whare.
Castle Door
6"x8"
£25
I discovered this door in the remains of a wall at the Castle in Knaresborough. Though the castle is nothing but ruins, they are so well looked after and have such magnificent views of the Nidd Valley, that they are well worth a visit.
Market Hall, Chipping Campden
12"x9"
£25
This is the Market Hall in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. All of the buildings in this area were built using a very yellowey sandstone commonly known as Cotswold Stone. The hall was built in 1627 and is quite well known for it's particular roof construction.
Crooked Spire - Chesterfield
7"x9"
£45
I have found many explanations, theories, speculations and folkstories with regards to how this church in Chesterfield ended up with a crooked spire. The favourite seems to be the use of unseasonned timbers coupled with the use of hundreds of lead tiles.
